Velcera's patented Promist™ drug delivery technology is being utilized to develop new formulations of currently approved active ingredients resulting in innovative and improved pet medicines. Velcera's development programs are currently evaluating Promist-based product candidates expected to achieve regulatory approvals throughout the major pet health markets of North America, Europe and elsewhere.

Promist is a potential new patent-protected vetrinary product in the canine pain management category. Within an estimated global category of approximately $320 million per year, our product would be differentiated by its convenience, speed of absorption and unique formulation.

Promist is a new patent-protected veterinary product candidate for the treatment of allergic dermatitis in canines. Currently available options for treating canine allergies are very limited and rely largely upon immunosuppressive drugs, e.g., steroids. The active ingredient in Promist is an approved human health drug with low bioavailability in canines when administered in conventional forms, resulting in low therapeutic effectiveness. Studies of this drug reformulated using our Promist delivery, however, demonstrated a 30 fold (approx.) increase in the amount of drug in the bloodstream compared to conventional tablet administration.
