Velcera is led by a dynamic team of animal health professionals, with extensive experience and expertise in the scientific, regulatory and business aspects the of the animal health industry.
As the Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Steadman has the overall responsibility for the strategic development and operations of the Company. He has considerable experience in the animal health field, both as a consultant and a senior executive.
Prior to joining Velcera, Mr. Steadman founded Valorum Associates Ltd., which provided executive management and strategic advisory services to animal health and related industries. Prior to Valorum, Mr. Steadman held the position of Vice President, North American Operations and Global Management Committee Member with Merial Ltd., a leading animal health company. His experience includes responsibility for the Merck animal health business in the USA and Pacific Region. Prior to joining Merck, Mr. Steadman was with Chase Econometrics (subsidiary of Chase Manhattan Bank) for more than a decade conducting business research and providing consulting services to the agri-business sector.
Mr. Steadman holds a Master of Science degree in Agricultural Economics from Pennsylvania State University with a focus on marketing and statistics, a B.S. degree from Pennsylvania State University in Agricultural Business Management, and has completed an Executive Program in Finance at the Harvard Business School.

As head of Velcera's research and development, Dr. Benitz is responsible for all ongoing scientific R&D at Velcera, in particular, development of PromistT, Velcera's transmucosal delivery systems for veterinary use, including animal studies, chemistry and formulation activities.
Prior to joining Velcera, he held positions in Pfizer animal health and lead global research and development for Pharmacia Animal Health. Dr. Benitz was Director of Research and Development, North America for Hoechst-Roussel Vet (Intervet), and also spent eight years with Merck Animal Science Research and five years with Schering-Plough Animal Health.
He is a veterinarian with experience in building and running a private companion animal practice. Dr. Benitz earned a B.S. degree with honors from the University of California, Davis; a Master of Science degree in reproductive physiology from the University of Illinois; and a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the University of Saskatchewan, Canada.

As Velcera's chief regulatory officer, Dr. Petrick oversees the registrations and approval processes of products using Velcera's proprietary technologies, as well as develop global regulatory strategies.
Prior to joining Velcera, Dr. Petrick spent 15 years as the head of Worldwide Regulatory Affairs for Schering-Plough Animal Health Corporation. Prior to Schering-Plough, Dr. Petrick was with American Cyanamid Company for 10 years in the Program Development and Regulatory Affairs groups. Prior to Cyanamid, he was base veterinarian in the US Air Force.
Dr. Petrick obtained his veterinary degree from the University of Pennsylvania and also holds a J.D. from the Seton Hall University School of Law.
As Chief Financial Officer, Mr. Hill provides leadership in the areas of finance and Securities and Exchange Commission reporting while contributing to business strategy and business development.
Prior to joining Velcera, Mr. Hill was Chief Financial Officer and Vice President Operations of EP MedSystems, Inc., a publicly-held medical device company. In that capacity, he was responsible for all aspects of the financial management, SEC reporting and compliance, and played a key role in the capitalization of the company and strategic third-party negotiations. Prior to his nearly five years at EP MedSystems, he spent ten years in public accounting where he held numerous positions including senior manager. He is a CPA and holds a Bachelors of Science degree from Lehigh University.
